panel of top musicians and audio
professionals - the ‘ears’ of the
brand. They participate, at prototype
stage, in a series
of blind-listening
tests, rating each
new Aston against
industry standard
models from other
manufacturers.
Only when the
Aston is consistently voted the
best sounding of the bunch is the
mic signed off for production. This
process ensures that every mic not
only outperforms anything in its class,
but often mics costing far, far more.
The panel, still referred to
affectionately as the Aston 33 after
the founders, has now grown to over
120 members who now help in the
development process of each new
Aston product.
With the Element
this concept
was rolled out to
include the public,
with more than
4000 musicians,
engineers and
producers having their say in the
voicing of the nal product.
